ช่องที่ 19 กระบี่กับโรงงานไฟฟ้าลิกไนต์เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2507 เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2501 องค์การไฟฟ้าฝ่ายผลิตได้ให้ผู้เชี่ยวชาญมาสำรวจคุณภาพถ่านหินที่กระบี่พบว่าถ่านหินมีคุณภาพพอที่จะนำมาใช้เป็นเชื้อเพลิงได้
ในปีพ.ศ. 2507 รัฐบาลออกพระราชบัญญัติ “การลิกไนต์” และเปิดทำการเหมืองลิกไนต์ บริเวณบางปูดำตำบลเหนือคลองพื้นที่ประมาณ 400 ตะรางกิโลเมตรเพื่อนำมาใช้เป็นเชื้อเพลิงโรงงานไฟฟ้าปีต่อมาก่อสร้างโรงงานไฟฟ้าพลังงานความร้อนจากเครื่องกำเนิดไฟฟ้าขนาด 20,000 กิโลวัตต์สองเครื่องใจกระแสไฟฟ้าให้กับจังหวัดกระบี่และจังหวัดใกล้เคียงแปดจังหวัดคือ กระบี่พังงาภูเก็ตสุราษฎร์ธานีตรังตรังนครศรีธรรมราชพัทลุงและสงขลาและได้เพิ่มกำลังอีก 20,000 กิโลวัตต์ในปี พ.ศ. 2511 ปัจจุบันเพิ่มกำลังเป็น 300,000 กิโลวัตต์ใช้น้ำมันเตาเป็นเชื้อเพลิง

Panel 19, Krabi : The Lignite Power Plant in 1958. In the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand had experts to survey the quality of coal in Krabi, found that the quality of coal is enough to be used as fuel in year B.E. 2507, the government issued the "Lignite Act" and opened the Lignite Mine. Bang Pu Dam area, Nuea Khlong sub-district, about 400 kilograms to be used as fuel for power plants. The following year, construction of two 20,000-kilowatt thermal power plants generated electricity for Krabi and eight neighboring provinces. Province is Krabi, Phang Nga, Phuket, Surat Thani, Trang, Trang, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung and Songkhla and added an additional 20,000 kilowatts in the year 1968. Currently, the power is increased to 300,000 kilowatts using fuel oil as fuel.
